Lesson 2: Greetings

 Introduction

Greetings  ne signifie que les salutations en anglais.  Comme en français, les salutations sont faites en fonction du temps qu'il fait.

Comment saluer?

Le matin: Good morning 

L'après-midi: Good afternoon 

Le soir à partir de 18h: Good evening 

Bonne nuit: Good night 

Au revoir: Good bye 

Salut: Hello 

Salut: Hi 

Je suis ravi de te rencontrer: Nice to meet you 


Exemples

- My brother, please sleep now. Good night and God protect you!!!

- Good morning sophie! Are you not ready yet? I'm going to school without you.

- Good afternoon Moussa!!! It is two past one pm! Don't you go to school?

- Good evening Kodjo! Where is badu?

Remarque: 

Retenons ici qu'il y a deux   bonsoir  dans la salutation anglaise.

Nous avons good afternoon qui est exprimé de 13h00  à 17h59 

Et good evening qui est exprimé de 18h00  à 23h59  .

Adverbs of place

  I ntroduction Adverbs of place are used to indicate where an action takes place. They are generally put after the principal verb or the object complement. The different adverbs of place are: - around (autour) - everywhere (partout) - back (derrière) - behind (derrière) - before (devant) - in front of (en face de... Ou devant) - after (après) - next to ( à côté de...) - in (dans) - nearby (proche) - far (loin) - outside (extérieur) - here (ici) - there (là, là-bas, y) Examples - look at in my school, if there is course today . - I am there, behind her house. Here and there Here and there are common adverbs place. They indicate the place in relation to speaker. People ( how old are you?)

  Situation - Aminata : hello, my name is Aminata, and you? - Fabrice : hi, my name is Fabrice How old are you ? - Aminata : I am eleven years old . And you? - Fabrice : I am thirteen years old and I am your neighbor. - Aminata : Ok nice to meet you! - Fabrice : Nice to meet you too! But contrary to the french language, the auxillary ""to be""   is used to express the age in english and no ""to have".
